Peacecamp

Hallo everybody
welcome to the peacecamp project of summer 2005!
I am both an Israeli and an Austrian, living now in Vienna, Austria. I have a husband and a daughter, Lia, who will soon be 16. Lia participated at the first peacecamps and helps me a lot with realising peacecamp-projects. I also have two cats, kitty and snow.
I am a psychologist and a psychotherapist: This means that I am trying to understand the way people feel, think and act. Sometimes people find it hard to understand themselves and others and therefore get into trouble. When they come to see me, we talk a lot and try to make sense of things; understanding more about us and others can help finding new solutions to old problems.
I am very interested in dialogue, intercultural exchange and mutual learning and therefore had the idea of creating such peacecamps.
My contribution to the peacecamp project has to do with planning and realising peacecamp encounters. Another thing I am interested in is the scientific evaluation of the peacecamp project: This means that I am trying to find out in what way (if at all) such peacecamps can help young people to find better - less violent, more peaceful - ways to deal with one another. This is why I will sometimes ask you to write a few lines, to answer a few questions or to contribute your thoughts and ideas about various topics. Learning what young people think about the unsolved problems of their generation can help to find new ways and new solutions. This is what I would want to learn from you.
It is my hope that your generation will find better ways to deal with the problems of our society. If we all unite our forces in the struggle for peace and equality, in the fight against racism and terror, this will make our countries a better place and our world a better world.

My name is Jürgen Rebernig. I am a 15- year-old student attending the so called "Alpen-Adria Gymnasium" in Völkermarkt and I live in a small village near Völkermarkt called Haimburg. I enjoy reading; In fact, I am addicted to reading good books. My other hobbies are archery, swimming, riding my bike, playing with the computer and singing.
I am looking forward to 10 wonderful and interesting days and I hope that we will be able to work together without quarrelling, and that we are able to learn more about people from other countries and their history.

2.Christoph Weber
My name's Christoph and I'm 16 years old. I'm living in a pretty, small
place near the "Klopeiner See", a place where many people spend their
holidays. My hobbies are playing the guitar, having fun with my friends,
playing soccer and listening to music. I like Green Day, Blink 182, Sum 41 &
No Use For A Name. I have a sister who's 13 years old. I'm a student of the
Alpen-Adria Gymnasium in Völkermarkt and i go to the 6B class.
I also play in a band with Florian who takes also part on the peace camp.

3. Florian Pirolt
Hi, my name is Florian Pirolt and I am 16 years old.
I am from Gattersdorf, a very small village near Völkermarkt in Carinthia,
Austria.
I have a 22 year old sister, now studying in Italy and a 14 year old brother
who attends, like I do, the "Alpen-Adria Gymnasium" in Völkermarkt.
I don't have many hobbies, but I am addicted to music. I play the piano and
the drums, like to sing and I love to listen to music all day. Sometimes I
also go out to play some soccer with my friends here in the village.
Well these are the most important facts I have to say about myself.I'm

4. Andrea Klatzer
Hi!
My name is Andrea Klatzer. I am a fifteen year old girl living in a small town called Voelkermarkt in the south of Austria (Carinthia). I really like it there, because of the wonderful landscape: There are a lot of mountains, hills, lakes etc…
I have one elder sister, whose name is Bettina. She is 18 years old.
My hobbies are playing the classical and electric guitar, singing (although I am not the best singer…), dancing, listening to music and going out with my friends.
I would describe myself as a very social person and later I want to have a job where I have the possibility to help people.
I think that the Peace Camp-project is something very interesting, because you have the possibility to talk to people with different religious beliefs, cultures and languages. I'm really looking forward to spending wonderful ten days with all the participants. I think that we'll have a lot of fun and we'll find lots of new friends there!


5. Michaela Obersriebnig.
My name is Michaela Obersriebnig and I live in Carinthia in Austria. I have two brothers and two sisters and they are all younger than me. My birthday is on June 6, 1989. My hobbies are singing, playing the flute, listening to music, I love reading, laughing, meeting friends and having fun. I think I am a quite easy-going and relaxed person, I am friendly, always smiling, lively, also sociable and talkative.
I go to class 6B of the Alpen-Adria Gymnasium Völkermarkt.

I think that the peace camp will be a good chance for all of us to take a little step for a peaceful and better world. Because little steps are as important as big ones.

6. Anna Hoisl
My name is Anna Hoisl and I am 16 years old. I live in Völkermarkt, Austria and I go to the Alpen-Adria-Gymnasium there. I have one younger brother(14 years old). My hobbies are swimming, playing tennis and I also love to listen to music. I like to be a part of this Peacecamp-project because I think it will be a great experience to meet people from different cultures and I think that we`ll have a funny and peaceful week.


7. Patrick Durchschlag
My name is Patrick Durchschlag and I am 16 years old . My hobbies are playing soccer, swimming, listening to music, watching films and doing athletic. My favourite music is Rock and my favourite band is Queen. My favourite films are "Star Wars" and "The Lord Of The Rings".I also like it to go out with my friends and to have fun with them.
My expectations from this enouncer are to have fun and I hope I will meet a lot of people. I think we will do there a lot of things and I hope we will play soccer too. I find it is very great to meet other people from other countries because I don't know very much about the culture of the Arabic people and of course I don't know much about the Jewish culture but I hope I will learn about them.

My name is Cornelia Jausovec, however, everybody calls me Conni. I am 16 years old and live in Voelkermarkt, a small town in Carinthia, Austria. I like the place where I am living because we have got a quite big diversity concerning nature.
I have one sister and one brother, both are older than me and already study in Graz and Vienna.
I am a student of the Alpen-Adria-Gymnasium Voelkermarkt.
My hobbies are singing, playing the piano, playing tennis (even though I am not very good at it), swimming, listening to music and meeting with friends. I really love to travel and I have already been to several countries.
I want to take part in this Peacecamp because I think it is a great experience to meet people from different countries, having different religions and cultures.
